About

The GROW! Community Garden is located on the grounds of Trinity Lutheran Church on Buchanan Street. The public is welcome to visit anytime!

GROW! started in 2009 with support from community members who recognized the value of gardening not only as a source of food but also as a tool for social connection and health within our community. It is the mission of GROW! to bring the community together to realize the connections that can be made within the community to further enhance its wellbeing. GROW! is a 501c3 nonprofit organization.

GROW! provides gardening opportunities for community members without access to a garden space and for those who wish to garden in a community setting where they can learn from experienced gardeners, including the University of Idaho Master Gardeners, who have permanent plots in the GROW! community garden. GROW! provides gardening education, including information on planting, harvesting, food storage, and composting. GROW! has a Children’s Garden and a perennial herb garden maintained by the UI Master Gardeners, which is also a Little Free Garden.

GROW! provides fresh produce for the local food bank, which serves approximately 500 local families each month. It also sells some of its produce at the Bonners Ferry Farmers Market to help cover operating costs at the community garden. GROW! had donated over a ton of fresh produce each year since 2017.
