Happy New Year, GROW Community Garden Supporters!

Thanks for your support of our community garden in 2018. With your help, we supplied 2600 lb of fresh organic produce to our local community! We have some exciting new events planned for 2019, including:

Wed., January 16, 6-8pm: 9B Community Food System Potlucks and Speaker Series featuring Paula and Laken Rice at the Boundary County Fairgrounds. Paula Rice is the owner of BeeHaven Flower Farm, where they have been growing and designing flower arrangements since 2007. They grow over 150 varieties of cut flowers! Her daughter Laken operates SoulShine Bistro, a breakfast and lunch counter located inside Under the Sun, where they make fresh, local food every day, including their own bread. This is a free event open to all. Bring a dish to share! I appreciate a RSVP for planning purposes. GROW meets before the dinner at 5pm, so feel free to come early!

Wed., January 30, 5-7pm: GROW Annual Membership Meeting, Extension Office Meeting Room: Election of new Board members and officers following the regular meeting focused on 2019 planning. Refreshments will be served! There are openings for two board members. One is for a 3-year term and one is for a 1-year term to complete the term of a resigning member. Denise (208-304-6337) or Kate (208-267-3235) are happy to discuss your interest in a board position. Board members may be interested in chairing a particular area of responsibility such as community garden plot rentals, the fall Farm to Table Fundraiser, the spring raffle, Farmers Market booths, produce donations, membership, website and blog, or the new Little Free Gardens project.
